We've been told by a long time source in the Mayor's office that the Mayor has already offered the job to someone. We don't know if that individual is going to accept the job offer or not, but unless he or she is progressive, humane, is committed to implementing No-Kill policies, programs, protocols and has terrific skills in advertising,

We also have it from a very good source inside the Mayor's office that Jim Bickhart has chosen a half dozen individuals, one of whom is AGAINST NO-KILL and FERAL CATS , to be ‘advisors' in this search; NONE of them are progressive, humane, No-Kill shelter leaders. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE!
It seems that the city is up to something sleazy again regarding the appointment of a GM for LAAS. If the city is making backroom deals for contributions to Villaraigosa's future campaign fund like they did when they selected Ed Boks to be GM, and if Citygate and the City of LA are not using Leaders in No-Kill Shelter Management to be their ‘advisors' to facilitate the recruitment of a General Manager, then this whole search is a ruse, a scam; another one of Puppy Killer Villaraigosa's projects to screw the animals and get back at the humane community which he hates.
We must hold Jim Bickhart, the Mayor and Citygate accountable now more then ever. Remember the old saying, "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on ME!" It's up to US this time to demand much more transparency in the recruiting process. SO. . . . . .

And we'll get the same people doing the same kind of killing.

The recruitment of a progressive, humane No-Kill GM should NOT be a "closed process" left up to a head hunting firm that is known for being ‘Old School' and some secret "advisors" hand picked by Jim Bickhart because they are his "friends" and he likes them. THE ADVISORS SHOULD ALL BE PROGRESSIVE LEADERS IN NO-KILL HUMANE SHELTERING MANAGEMENT.
Because of Jim Bickhart and the Mayor, the poor animals are most likely going to get screwed again. I demand that this secret "advisory" committee Jim Bickhart has selected be made public. I also demand PROOF that Citygate is working closely with National No-Kill Leaders to recruit a General Manager. I want the names of the No-Kill shelter Leaders Citygate is working with be made public. I demand and am entitled to MUCH MORE transparency in this recruitment process that involves the life and death of innocent animals AND the spending of MY tax dollars.
Furthermore, the date for applications to be filed with Mr. Harman should be set back to March in order for word to spread across the Country regarding this job opening. It's taken NINE months for the city to come up with a "job description” and now they are allowing less then three weeks for the entire recruitment process? Something sounds very sordid and secretive about the way this recruitment process is being handled. Lastly, I demand to know ALL the web sites, bulletin boards and magazines the job announcement has now been posted on." Your signature here
