WE MUST SPREAD THE WORD AND 'SHINE A SPOT LIGHT' ON WHAT'S GOING ON IN LOS ANGELES REGARDING OUR SIX CITY SHELTERS(VIRTUAL DEATH CAMPS) FOR OUR HOMELESS AND LOST ANIMALS.

Just ONE more reason why the search for a progressive, humane, No Kill General Manager for Los Angeles is of the utmost importance at this time. All the below were killed on 12/23/09; their Christmas present was a lethal injection of poison. They were killed for absolutely no reason except that under Davis and Barth LAAS is literally a slaughterhouse for homeless and lost animals. How DARE Mayor Villaraigosa call these places of misery and death "animal shelters?" He MUST appoint a progressive, humane, creative and No Kill General Manager to lead LAAS out of the "dark ages." It's been over SEVEN MONTHS since Boks resigned and the Mayor just asked the city council to extend "Deadly Davis' " interim position for up to another SIX months!

Mayoral staffer Jim Bickhart (who is overseeing the search for a new GM) should have been FIRED years ago by the Mayor. Please contact all the individuals listed below after reading the post forwarded to ADL-LA.

EMERGENCY!

"I am very disturbed. Despite 70+ animals being pulled by rescue groups and adopted at East Valley Shelter this weekend, they are still KILLING like crazy. These 8 wonderful cats were just added to today's "euthanasia," aka KILL list, which already included at least 2 already killed this morning.

Their New Hope list is short; in fact, all 6 shelters only have 81 cats on New Hope, green and red! WHY are 8 more being killed? It is IMPOSSIBLE that all these cats are deathly sick or dangerously aggressive and can't be rehabilitated!

The cats and kittens being killed need some help.... They have been there less than 1 week!
It seems all of us who call, complain or try to implement new ideas to save these animals just doesn't seem to register to anyone working at East Valley; especially interim GM Kathy Davis (who tries her hardest to COVER UP ALL THE KILLING) and Linda Barth her side kick who does nothing to save the lives of adoptable animals.

I'm just...I'm just so frustrated and heartsick in seeing all this injustice and slaughter going on at LAAS Death Camps! Four of these cats came in together; NO WAY they are all feral, and why are SUPPOSED ferals getting less than 7 days now before they are murdered? Most of these cats came in un-trapped, HAND-HELD. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING ?? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME HERE.

I already called the shelter to confirm they are all being killed today. Most aren't even red listed for 7 days! This is just pure evil on the part of LAAS. "

"I demand Jim Bickhart and Citygate Associates write a "progressive" and not a "regressive" job description for the job of General Manager of LAAS; and that would include individuals who have not necessarily been paid to work in 'animal control' be allowed to apply for the job as well as PROGRESSIVE shelter employees throughout the Nation.

'No Kill' means that an animal will only be killed if he/she is suffering from an illness and their prognosis is grave, or he/she is extremely aggressive and cannot be rehabilitated; Not killed for lack of space (animals inside LAAS are being killed even when there is LOTS of space!) LAAS is immoral, unethical and evil.
'No Kill' is being done successfully in humane societies and municipal city shelter systems right now in American cities who have progressive, humane, No-Kill individuals running the animal shelters there. "
